Marco Poidomani wins the 2026 Italian Coffee in Good Spirits Championship

Coffee in Good Spirits (CIGS) is an international competition that brings together the worlds of coffee and mixology, highlighting coffee as a central ingredient in high-level alcoholic and signature creations that combine technical precision and creativity.

We are proud to announce that Marco Poidomani, barista and Bezzera Brand Ambassador, has won the 2026 Italian Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, held at SIGEP in Rimini. This achievement reflects his talent, vision, and ability to interpret coffee through a contemporary lens.

Thanks to this victory, Marco will represent Italy at the Coffee in Good Spirits World Championship, taking place during the World of Coffee in Brussels, from June 25 to 27, 2026.

Competing with Bezzera: NINI on the competition stage

During the first round of the competition, known as Spirits Bar and held at the Innovation Bar, competitors were required to prepare two identical drinks — either both hot or both cold — using a coffee extraction method of their choice and a randomly assigned spirit.

Within this framework, Marco chose to work with espresso, relying on the new Bezzera NINI espresso machine and positioning espresso as the core element of his preparation.

This choice highlights the reliability, extraction precision and versatility of a machine designed to meet the needs of professionals, even in highly demanding contexts such as national-level competitions. The presence of NINI on the championship stage further confirms Bezzera’s ongoing commitment to innovation, while remaining true to the tradition of Italian espresso.

Marco’s journey also unfolds within a continuous dialogue with Bezzera’s engineering team, focused on experimentation and the development of new coffee extraction solutions, capable of reinterpreting the espresso machine in a contemporary way.
